COVID Policies

COVID-19 is a testing time for Gyms…

…and we have endeavoured to put in place a comprehensive approach to making Train Elite a safe place to for training by introducing the following guidelines:

First of all, you must stay home if you have any concerns whatsoever that you may have contracted or been in touch with anyone infected with COVID-19.

When in the gym, we feel confident that by following our simple guidelines, you will be safe and more importantly will be respecting the safety of your fellow members and your dedicated Train Elite team.

We will have to restrict the numbers of people in the gym at any one time. This has been set at a maximum of 12 people per session in the main gym area, and 8 for each Strength & Conditioning class.

At present people will have to book in for all classes and we have a procedure online to facilitate this through. We also ask that you only book a maximum of 4 sessions per week. If you have not pre-booked a session (which the trainers will be monitoring by name), you will not be able to take part, and have to leave the gym. As the restrictions ease, will continue to increase the number of people per class.

We’ve arranged the space on the main gym floor with relevant distancing markers to that you can train alongside other members whilst keeping a safe distance. We do not have any seating in our reception area currently, as we do have to ask all members to arrive no more than 5 minutes before your pre-booked session and leave immediately after it has finished. We are currently not able to allow children into the gym.

Until restrictions ease further, we are unable to allow classes such as circuits and will have to restrict movement around the gym floor. You will be required to train within a designated and marked space, but which will still give you plenty of space to achieve an optimum workout and we can assure you it will always be varied. We will still be using some equipment, including kettlebells and plates. And we are able to use all the equipment upstairs for Strength & Conditioning classes.

At present you are unable to bring anything to the gym, other than a water bottle, which will have to remain in your training area, and a pair of indoor trainers. Indoor trainers must be worn on the mats. You will not be able to train bare foot currently. Therefore, if you do forget to bring indoor trainers to your session, we are sorry, but you will not be able to train.

Our gym will be deep cleaned every night with high-grade anti-viral disinfectant. We will ask our members to clean down any kit they are using during a session (such as kettlebells). But we will also clean every piece of kit and surface throughout the day, including our floor matting, which is very durable, non-porous and therefore very easy to keep clean and disinfected regularly.

We’ve installed new self-cleaning stations so you can clean your kit before and after use, for added peace of mind.

You’ll also find hand sanitising stations around the gym so it’s easy to regularly clean your hands during your visit. We ask that you also sanitise your hands upon entering the gym to keep yourself and others safe but also encourage you to wash your hands. We ask that you do not wear gloves to the gym but ensure that you sanitise and/or wash your hands on entering and exiting.

Of course, you are very welcome to use the toilets at the gym, and they will be regularly cleaned during the day, and every night. We have towel dispensers for you to use. Unfortunately, we are unable to allow you to use the shower at present.

All staff will be fully trained on our new cleaning and safety measures to ensure these are delivered to the highest standard.

We thank you for your support of all our efforts during these difficult times, and of our team. If you have any issues or concerns about any of our measures, please do come and talk to us. We are learning too, and by working together, we can continue to make things better for us all!
